Siliguri: Marking the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hope & Heal Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Siliguri, is organising a special Pink October Awareness Month Campaign to promote awareness about breast cancer and the importance of timely attention to breast health.
The campaign will be inaugurated on October 1 at the hospital premises. The initiative is being organised as part of the global observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is held throughout October to encourage awareness, early detection and access to appropriate cancer care.
The hospital has invited members of the public and well-wishers to join the inauguration programme and extend their support to the awareness campaign.
The initiative comes at a time when breast cancer continues to remain a major global health concern. According to the World Health Organization, October provides an opportunity to increase awareness, encourage timely diagnosis and strengthen access to quality breast cancer care. The WHO's 2026 campaign carries the theme “Every story is unique, every journey matters.”
Hope & Heal Cancer Hospital, based in the Siliguri region, provides cancer care services and describes its approach as focused on technology, experienced oncology professionals and patient-centred care.
Sharing the invitation for the campaign, Dr. Saptarshi Ghosh, Director, Hope & Heal Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Siliguri, appealed for support and participation in the Pink October initiative.
The campaign aims to contribute to the wider conversation around breast cancer awareness during October and encourage people to remain informed about breast health and seek medical advice when they notice any unusual changes.
