The Indian Air Force marked its 94th Air Force Day on Thursday with a ceremonial parade at Air Force Station Hindan in Ghaziabad, showcasing the force’s operational strength, technological capabilities and long-standing military heritage.
Addressing the gathering, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, underlined the importance of maintaining a high level of operational preparedness in an increasingly complex global security environment. He said the IAF remains alert, committed and ready to respond to any contingency.
Air Chief Marshal Singh noted that over the past 94 years, the Indian Air Force has evolved into a capable, network-centric and multi-domain force. He stressed that the real strength of an air force is determined not simply by its aircraft and weapon systems, but by how quickly and effectively its personnel can respond when required.
Reflecting on Operation Sindoor, the Air Chief highlighted the IAF’s rapid transition into combat operations and its precision strike and air-defence capabilities. He said the experience demonstrated the importance of speed, preparedness and technological capability in modern warfare.
The celebrations also featured displays of major Indian Air Force platforms and systems, including Rafale, Su-30 MKI and Jaguar fighter aircraft, along with LCH Prachand and ALH Dhruv helicopters, air-defence systems and other military assets.
The official theme for the 94th Air Force Day was “Indian Air Force – Infallible, Impervious and Precise,” reflecting the force’s emphasis on resilience, precision and operational excellence. Air Chief Marshal Singh also highlighted the importance of emerging technologies, self-reliance and greater integration of modern systems into future operations.
The Air Force Day event served as a reminder of the IAF’s continuing role in safeguarding India’s skies and national interests while preparing for the changing nature of security challenges.
