Kolkata, August 7, 2026: The West Bengal government is set to participate in the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by distributing 70 lakh national flags across the state ahead of Independence Day celebrations.
As part of the initiative, the government aims to encourage citizens to proudly hoist the Indian national flag at their homes, institutions and workplaces, promoting patriotism and public participation in the celebrations.
To mark the campaign, a mega tricolour rally has been scheduled in Kolkata on August 10. The rally will begin from the Netaji Statue and is expected to witness the participation of government officials, public representatives, students and citizens from different parts of the state.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, launched to celebrate India's Independence, encourages people across the country to display the national flag as a symbol of unity, pride and national spirit.
The distribution of 70 lakh flags and the large-scale rally reflect the state's preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations and its participation in the nationwide campaign.
