Siliguri, August 15: North Bengal Development Minister Nishith Pramanik attended the Independence Day flag-hoisting programme at Uttarkanya in Siliguri on Saturday.
Speaking to the media after the programme, Pramanik said India’s youth, women, farmers and startups are playing an important role in the country’s growth and development.
He also spoke about the controversy surrounding remarks concerning Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The North Bengal Development Minister said any disrespect towards Netaji should be dealt with strictly.
Pramanik also thanked West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for taking action in the matter.
The West Bengal government’s official records list Nishith Pramanik as the Minister-in-Charge of the North Bengal Development Department, while Suvendu Adhikari is the current Chief Minister of West Bengal.
