Kolkata: The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a series of organisational changes, with several appointments and leadership shifts across the party structure.
The reshuffle includes changes in various district committees as well as the leadership of different party morchas. The move has brought a number of new faces into key organisational responsibilities.
Dr. Indranil Khan, who was serving as the BJP Yuva Morcha (Youth Wing) president, has been removed from the post. He will be succeeded by Amit Samanta, the BJP MLA from Amta. Public election records identify both Indranil Khan and Amit Samanta as BJP legislators from West Bengal.
The party has also made changes to the Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing). Anjana Basu has been appointed as the new president of the Mahila Morcha, replacing Phalguni Patra.
Further changes have been announced in other organisational wings. Dhananjay Ghosh has been given responsibility for the OBC Morcha, while Biswajit Biswas has been entrusted with the ST Morcha.
Alongside these appointments, the BJP has also reworked several district-level committees. The latest changes come at a time when the state BJP is preparing its organisation for the upcoming civic election process. Recent reports have indicated that the party is undertaking a wider organisational restructuring in Bengal.
The latest reshuffle is expected to bring fresh leadership into several organisational positions while redefining responsibilities across the state unit.
