West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has called upon people across the state to participate in the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
In a video message shared on X, Adhikari urged citizens to light a diya as part of the observance and offer prayers for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.
The Chief Minister said the occasion would not only mark Modi’s birthday but also highlight his 25-year journey in public service. The state is also observing a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ beginning September 17 in connection with the occasion.
The lamp-lighting programme is part of a series of activities planned across West Bengal to commemorate the occasion. Earlier, Adhikari had announced plans for diyas to be lit at homes, institutions, temples and several prominent locations across the state.
