Siliguri, September 9, 2026: The OSL Group on Wednesday commemorated the first death anniversary of its founder, Late Shri Om Prakash Goyal, with a food distribution programme at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) in Siliguri.
Rather than organising a traditional memorial event, the OSL family chose to remember its founder through an act of service. Meals were distributed among people at the hospital, particularly patients’ attendants and family members who often remain at the premises for extended periods while their loved ones undergo treatment.
More than 700 people received food as part of the initiative.
Members of the OSL Group, along with members of the Goyal family, were present at the programme and took part in the distribution themselves.
The initiative was aimed at reflecting the values of compassion, service and social responsibility associated with Late Shri Om Prakash Goyal. For the family, the occasion served not only as a moment to remember the founder and his contributions but also as an opportunity to carry forward the principles he stood for.
The choice of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital was significant, considering the large number of patients and attendants who arrive at the institution from different parts of North Bengal. Many families remain in and around the hospital for days during treatment, often away from their homes.
Through the initiative, the OSL family sought to make the founder’s first death anniversary meaningful by extending support to people who needed it.
According to members associated with the group, social service, charitable initiatives and religious activities have continued to be an important part of the values followed by the OSL family.
The food distribution programme thus became a tribute rooted in action, with the family choosing to commemorate Late Shri Om Prakash Goyal by serving others and keeping his legacy of service alive.
