In a major development for Agniveers, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a two-year extension of their service tenure under the Agnipath scheme. Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani said the decision will provide eligible personnel with an opportunity to continue serving in the armed forces, subject to performance assessments and review.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday laid the foundation for five major expansion projects of GRSE and Yantra India in West Bengal, aimed at strengthening shipbuilding, defence manufacturing and indigenous production.
