North Bengal, August, 27, 2026 : Students of Merry View Tea Garden Primary School celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a special way by visiting the Army Camp of the Triple-A Battalion.
During the visit, the young students tied rakhis on the wrists of senior officers of the battalion and conveyed their wishes for their long and healthy lives. The Army officers warmly accepted the gesture and also participated in the celebration by receiving rakhis from the schoolchildren.
School Headmaster Lal Saheb Jha was present during the occasion and accompanied the students to the Army camp.
The children's heartfelt gesture touched the Army officers, who appreciated the initiative taken by the students and teachers. In recognition of the effort, the Army authorities honoured Headmaster Lal Saheb Jha with a Certificate of Appreciation.
The officers also praised the students and teachers for their thoughtful initiative and for fostering a sense of respect and affection between schoolchildren and members of the armed forces.
After receiving the certificate, Headmaster Lal Saheb Jha expressed his gratitude to the Army officers for acknowledging and encouraging the children's initiative.
