Kamarhati MLA Madan Mitra appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Wednesday in connection with the alleged municipal recruitment scam.
Earlier, on July 14, the ED had issued notices to Madan Mitra’s wife and his two sons. The entire family had already appeared before the agency as part of the investigation.
Speaking to the media before entering the ED office, Madan Mitra avoided answering most questions from reporters. He denied all allegations of corruption and said that he would fully cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate during the investigation.
“I have been called by the ED, and I will fully cooperate with the investigation,” he said, while rejecting any involvement in corruption.
